On the Radio and Launch Tour

Now then. 2013. New digits, new year. Things are going to happen, oh yes.

It was nice to start the year with my first bit of national radio play. Tom Robinson included 'Through the Fields' on his BBC 6 Music 'Introducing' Mixtape earlier this week, and you can download the whole show as a podcast here. Let's hope there's plenty more where that came from.

I wrapped up the album recording this week, though I'm still going to be revisiting some tracks after a few day's distance to redo some vocals here and there. Then it's mixing time, which someone cleverer than me is going to handle (more news on that later).

I'm also going to be compiling some video over the next few days to explain what the album is about and how it's being made, in the hope that perhaps a few eyeballs out there will watch it and make noises of interest like 'hmmmmmmm…ahaaaaa….ushhhh.'

The album launch tour schedule for April is almost complete, with the following dates so far confirmed:

Tuesday 2nd - The Bicycle Shop, Norwich
Thursday 4th - Broadcast, Glasgow
Friday 5th - Square Church, Halifax
Saturday 6th - 1:22, Huddersfield
Monday 8th - Kitchen Garden Cafe, Birmingham
Thursday 11th - The Talking Heads, Southampton
Friday 12th - The Bike Shed, Exeter
Saturday 13th - Miss Peapod's, Cornwall

Tuesday 16th April - The Stables, Milton Keynes

This is a joint tour with the wonderful Cate Ferris, who sings with Disraeli and the Small Gods and has an arsenal of beautiful solo songs featuring looped guitar, voice, flute, percussion and keys. Treat yourself to a listen here.

In a while, crocodile. I'll sign off with a doodle I found from years back, filed away in the 'Don't Show This To Anyone' section of my notebook archives.
