'Through the Fields' Goes Billboard

The beautiful animation created by Kingman Cheng and produced by Alex Mousefall for my song 'Through the Fields' was screened twice in London this week. First it was shown at the brilliant Braine Hownd short film night at The Hideaway in North London, a monthly event curated by screenwriter Mark Brown and the Braine Hownd production company. It's a fantastic event and our little video seemed to go down extremely well, along with a whiskey or two afterwards.

Today the animation was screened again, this time on the huge screen in Piccadilly Circus that's usually reserved for Coca Cola and Samsung ads. An edited segment of the animation was shown on the hour, every hour between 9am and 6pm as part of a collection of works by visual artists and filmmakers to celebrate National Poetry Day. It was pretty surreal seeing the video up there alongside the luminous faces of big-cheese multinational corporations as the traffic and hundreds of Londoners scurried on in their own worlds beneath it. Amazing stuff. You can see the video playing out on the bottom left screen in my crappy phone picture below.
